How to Save a Backyard with Severe Water Accumulation

When we first visited this backyard, the client was very troubled by the fact that it had remained muddy for over two years. After careful inspection and trenching, we identified two main sources of water seepage from the hillside. To address this issue, we decided to use a French drain to block the water from both directions. However, due to the slope of the land, it wasn’t possible to drain the water naturally, so we also installed a sump pump to move the water to a safe drainage area.

With these measures, the once muddy soil became dry and refreshing. The client can finally enjoy their new retaining wall and paver patio.

Now, this backyard that once suffered from severe water issues has been transformed, providing a new, enjoyable outdoor space for the client.
